Deep down I did not really want to stop and did not think I could do it.
After seeing the advisor, I felt encouraged because I then knew there were lots of products to help, and I was going to get on-going support.
One thing I’ve particularly appreciated about using the Stop Smoking Service was having an advisor that was bothered about me.
I would recommend the service to other people who would like to quit smoking, because if I can do it, then anyone else can. It’s worked.

I enjoyed smoking when got I stressed, and a cigarette would calm me down. I didn’t think I could stop until I tried Champix.
Without the stop smoking service I wouldn’t have been able to stop.
I would recommend the service and have already done so. It’s the easiest way to give up smoking.

My mum recommended the Stop Smoking Service to me because she’d used it before.
I think the most important thing about the service for me, was getting the right product. I used the mouth spray and I think if I had used anything else I could quite easily have failed. It was the right product for me.
Something else that was useful was having to blow into the carbon monoxide monitor, because you can see the reading and it makes you feel good about how well you are doing.
Also for me, having to come each week was important, because if I went out at the weekend and I knew I was going to be seeing my advisor on Tuesday, I would think ‘well, she’s going to know if I’ve had one, so…
I would definitely recommend the service and I have already recommended it to quite a few people; just because it makes it so much easier than trying to do it on your own.
I suppose I was a bit reluctant to give the Stop Smoking Service a go because of my past failures in trying to quit, but the service has been brilliant; very supportive and encouraging.
I particularly appreciated the options available this time. I didn’t get on too well in the past with nicotine products such as the gum. I found that equally as addictive as the cigarettes to be honest with you, and it had some unpleasant side effects for me. There’s definitely a better choice of products now.
I found that going in and blowing in the Carbon Monoxide monitor each time was helpful and quite encouraging, because it was something you could see, especially blowing zeros, that was good! Just the all-round support was great.
I was surprised that the advisor was able to support me through using an electronic cigarette, I didn’t expect that.
I would definitely recommend the Stop Smoking Service, first for the support and second for the amount of options available now, especially the vaping, it’s been great!
