The Step Right Out smokefree homes programme achieved bumper results last quarter with 744 households signing up to the Step Right Out promise to keep their homes and cars smokefree for the benefit of their family’s health.
The vast majority of these sign up ( 79%), were achieved by the children’s centres who have been doing an excellent job of talking to their families about the dangers of secondhand smoke and encouraging them to keep their homes and cars smokefree. The children’s centres made a fantastic effort signing up their service users to Step Right Out and collectively achieved 586 sign ups compared with 165 in the previous quarter.
The West Cluster Group, which includes Braunstone, New Parks, West End, Braunstone Frith and Rowley Fields children’s centres, achieved the highest number out of the six cluster groups, with 250 overall. Last week they were presented with the Step Right Out Partnership Champion trophy and the trophies for highest individual sign ups went to Pratima Surati and Teri Nichols from New Parks Childrens Centre, who both achieved a fantastic 47 sign ups each.
